Aventur is pleased to announce the appointment of Jo Ann Williams to its Board of Directors. With decades of executive leadership in the insurance industry, extensive financial and underwriting expertise and a deep personal connection to senior living, Jo Ann brings a unique combination of professional experience and heartfelt dedication to the organization.

Jo Ann earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and achieved the prestigious Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, reflecting her commitment to excellence and leadership throughout her career.

Over more than 25 years in the commercial insurance industry, Jo Ann held a variety of leadership roles, including Partner and Vice President of Underwriting at Pelican General Agency in Shreveport, Louisiana. There, she managed underwriting operations, collaborated with insurance company executives and actuaries, oversaw regulatory compliance, analyzed production and premium performance and led underwriting teams. Her career also includes leadership positions with Deep South Surplus of Texas, Nobel Insurance Company, Republic Insurance Company, Walker General Agency and Old American County Mutual.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jo Ann has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to serving others through volunteerism and community leadership.

Since 2023, she has served on the Board of Directors for The Glen Retirement System, an Aventur community. Her connection to The Glen extends back more than two decades through her family's experience. Jo Ann's sister called The Glen home for several years, and her mother was a resident for more than a decade. During that time, Jo Ann became a familiar and caring presence in the community, volunteering each week to assist residents in attending Catholic Mass and building meaningful relationships with many who lived there.

Her dedication to service continues through her involvement at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where she serves on the Pastoral Council, Bereavement Committee, Community and Fellowship Committee and Tuesday Rosary Group. She is also an active member of the East Ridge Women's Golf Association.
